Akari is someone who is incredibly withdrawn and restrained. She tries incredibly hard to stay in full control of herself and her emotions, but the years of having to stay on high alert and discipline have worn her down.
She originally wanted nothing more than a simple, happy life in her village. In her current state, the fact that she lost the ability to have her ideal life brings her immense sorrow, but she can't allow herself to linger on those feelings.
When Akari is at her weakest moments, the demon inside her soul takes over. Giving her a monstrous form, this creature has a literally firey love for carnage. Years of training have honed her ability to restrain this, but she can still succumb.

Because of this, she views herself as incredibly dangerous, and opts to isolate herself for others' safety.

Story

Akari was born in the mountain village of Nukumoritoge. She lived an ordinary life, learning to take care of the village's shrine from the old caretaker, hoping to pass full responsibility to her one day.
On a day similar to any other, the village was raided by a horde of trolls. As her friends, her family, and everyone she knew was massacred by the sudden outbreak of monsters, she ran, eventually finding herself at the old, abandoned shrine. In desperation, she prays, but this unknowingly signed a pact with the demon inhabiting the shrine. It possesses her soul, turning her body into the conduit for its monstrous strength and bloodlust. Akari awakens the next morning to a field of corpses, human and troll alike, and the horror of what she's done.
Over the years, Akari lived a life of solitude and meditation, living in the village's primary shrine, trying to hold on to a small sliver of what she wanted her life to be. She tries her best to prevent the demon inside letting loose once more.

Looks incredibly tired; frazzled, black, graying hair, large bags under her bloodshot eyes. Wears very worn and falling apart armor combined with cloth. Has a demonic, oni shaped sigil on her forehead that she keeps hidden by her bangs and fiery orange eyes. Burn scars cover her body. Shorter and on the wider side.
Gameplay

Gets stronger as HP gets lower, has a berserk status that can enhance this effect at the cost of a constant burn damage. Fire aspected physical attacks.

Highest offense, medium defense. High phys, low magic. Medium speed.

The job combination that turned into Akari was Samurai and Berserker.
Akari was picked using the kanji meaning "Cinnabar/Red Pigment" and "Glass/Crystal/Gemstone", and Shimoyama was picked using the kanji meaning "Frost" and "Mountain".
